Highly recruited instate running back plans third trip to Ole Miss this season

Louisville’s Zaiden Jernigan (8) maneuvers past Poplarville defenders during the MHSAA 4A championship game in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Louisville (Miss.) High School running back Zaiden Jernigan is one of the nation’s best, so it should come as no surprise that his interest has peaked for one of the America’s top college football programs.

Jernigan will be back in Oxford for the third time this season on Saturday to watch the Ole Miss Rebels battle Auburn. Ole Miss and Auburn kick off at 11:45 a.m. CT on Saturday.

Jernigan has been somewhat of a good luck charm for the Rebels. He watched Ole Miss defeat LSU and Missouri in his two previous visits to Oxford this season.

The 5-11, 190-pounder is rated as America’s No. 2 running back and No. 77 overall prospect in the 2028 class by the industry average.

In addition to Ole Miss, Jernigan holds offers from SEC programs Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M, as well as Notre Dame, Ohio State, California, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, UCLA, USC, Virginia Tech, Washington and others.
