Excitement is brewing in Oxford, as No. 19/23 Ole Miss women’s basketball is set to host its lone exhibition match of the year against Lane College on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. CT.

The event is free to the public with general admission seating, excluding the floor seats. Parking will be open and available.

Team 52 is expected to continue their success under head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, as the Rebels have reached the NCAA tournament for five consecutive seasons. Ole Miss has brought in the top transfer portal class in the SEC for the second straight season, while also ranking third nationally, according to ESPN. This includes two of the top-15 transfers available this offseason in Talaysia Cooper (No. 7) and Jada Richard (No. 13).

The Rebels have gained early national recognition, earning preseason rankings in both the AP poll (No. 19) and USA TODAY/WBCA Coaches poll (No. 23). Additionally, in both the preseason SEC coaches and media polls, Ole Miss was picked seventh in the projected order of finish.

Individually, Cooper was named to the preseason All-SEC first team by the conference’s coaches and the preseason All-SEC second team in the media poll. In the coaches’ poll, Richard also earned honors, earning a spot on the All-SEC second team.

Following the exhibition, Ole Miss will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 2 from the SJB Pavilion for its annual Kids Day against Alcorn State at 11 a.m. CT. The full Ole Miss women’s basketball 2026-27 schedule can be found here.
