Ole Miss expects left tackle Terez Davis to return for Saturday’s game against Auburn, while defensive back Edwin Joseph’s availability remains uncertain.
Davis was a game-time decision against Texas, but the staff held him out. Head coach Pete Golding said Davis “probably could have” played, but the coaches did not want to risk making the injury worse. Golding expects him back this week, which could add stability to an offensive line that had to adjust without him.
The Rebels did not allow a sack against Texas, but Golding said the offensive line was inconsistent in the run game. Davis’ return could help Ole Miss improve its blocking and create more opportunities on the ground.
Joseph is still working through an ankle injury that required surgery. Golding said he is rehabbing daily, but the recovery has taken longer than expected. The coach is not confident Joseph will be ready for Auburn.
Davis’ return would give the offensive line a familiar presence against Auburn. The Rebels will have to wait longer for clarity on Joseph, whose recovery remains uncertain.
