Ole Miss has made its move for 2028 defensive back Cay’Den Young.
The Briarcrest Christian DB picked up an offer from the Rebels and will be in Oxford on October 17 for a visit.
“I was so excited when I found out. Words couldn’t even explain how I felt,” Young said. “Coach Moncrief gave me the offer and told me he saw how well I played and wanted to offer me.”
Young recently recorded two interceptions in Briarcrest Christian’s 38-30 win over Southwind.
At around 6-foot-2, Young covers ground well from depth, closes quickly on throws and tracks the football naturally. His length shows up at the catch point, where he can challenge receivers and attack the football. Right now, his ball skills may be the most advanced part of his game.
Young has the tools to stay outside at corner, while his range and ball skills also project well at safety. His frame has room to add weight without sacrificing his movement skills. As he gets stronger and continues cleaning up his technique, his versatility should become even more valuable.
“It means a lot, but I feel like many more are going to come, so I just have to keep working hard,” Young said. “I love their culture, from the fans all the way to the players. It seems like a great place to be.”
“I have a visit set for October 17, and I’m looking forward to getting there,” Young said.
Ole Miss got in early. Young will be in Oxford October 17, giving the Rebels their first chance to build on the relationship in person.
