The latest on Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy

Kewan Lacy (No. 5) and Trinidad Chambliss

Sources tell OleMiss365.com that Ole Miss star running back Kewan Lacy is trending toward missing Saturday’s game between No. 4 Ole Miss and No. 21 Florida due to a left shoulder injury he suffered in the third quarter of last week’s victory over LSU.

Also, on Friday, Lacy’s status changed from “questionable” to “doubtful” on the latest SEC injury report.

Earlier this week, Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding sounded much more promising that Lacy would play.

(Lacy) got an MRI (Sunday) morning. It wasn’t nearly as bad as we thought it was,” Golding said on Monday. “He’s going through the rehab process right now, and we’ll monitor the reps throughout the week. He’ll be a game-time decision.”

While that appears to be the case, it is looking doubtful that Lacy will play. OleMiss365.com. however, did conform with sources that he did make the trip to Gainesville.

No. 4 Ole Miss and No. 21 Florida kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT. The contest will be televised on ABC.
