Pete Golding knows his team has only played three games and the season is young. But when ESPN host Pat McAfee attempted to get Golding to stop and revel just a little bit in his own glory Tuesday, Pete flat out refused.
Especially not with a Top 25 Florida team dead ahead on Saturday. The Rebels are 3-0 and ranked No. 4 in the country, receiving three first-place votes this week.
McAfee kidded with Golding to close the season down now with the Rebels near the top of the sport.
“If we’re having this conversation in January, bro, I’m all about it, man,” Golding responded “It’s September.”
Ole Miss defeated then No. 7 LSU 42-34 Saturday night in Oxford before a record crowd of more than 70,000.
“And congratulations. You get to go play another Top 25 team at Florida,” quipped Golding.
