Ole Miss warns students: No LSU gear allowed

Ole Miss Athletics warns that anyone wearing opposing-team gear or colors will be denied entry to the student section or removed if found inside during Saturday’s showdown with LSU.

OXFORD, Miss. — Purple and gold won’t fly in the Ole Miss student section Saturday night. Ole Miss Athletics has issued a warning ahead of Saturday’s showdown with No. 7 LSU, making it clear that anyone wearing opposing-team gear or colors will not be allowed into the student section.

The university’s message was direct:

“No person wearing an opposing team’s gear or colors will be allowed entrance into the student section. Additionally, anyone found to be wearing opposing team apparel or colors in the student section will be removed.”

The restriction applies specifically to the student section, not the entire stadium.

With Lane Kiffin returning to Oxford, ESPN College GameDay in town and a sold-out Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Saturday already has plenty of emotion surrounding it.

Ole Miss is making one thing clear before kickoff: the student section belongs to the Rebels.

No. 8 Ole Miss and No. 7 LSU kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
