Madison Prep(LA) quarterback Jacobe Shannon Jr. is quickly emerging as one of Louisiana’s top Class of 2030 prospects.
The 6-foot-1, 172-pound quarterback has already earned scholarship offers from Southern and Grambling while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. His size, athleticism, and football IQ have made him one of the state’s most intriguing young signal-callers.
Those who have coached Shannon saw his potential early.
“I knew he had a chance to be special back when I was the athletic director at CSAL and he was our quarterback,” said Coach Akpan. “He was a man among boys and could take over a game whenever he wanted. Every day at lunch, he’d come to my office to study coverages and learn how to make the right reads. That’s when I knew he was different.”
With several years still remaining at Madison Prep, Shannon’s recruitment is just getting started. If his development continues, expect more college programs to join Southern and Grambling in pursuing one of Louisiana’s top young quarterbacks.
