Former Ole Miss basketball players set to compete in NBA Summer League

In the midst of the World Cup, the NBA Summer League will be kicking off in just a few weeks, and Ole Miss fans can expect to see some familiar faces in Las Vegas.

The summer league will run from July 9 to July 19, giving opportunities for newly drafted players and undrafted players, and players from previous drafts.

Former Ole Miss players Malik Dia, Matthew Murrell, and Sean Pedulla will compete in this years NBA Summer League. Dia Will compete for the New Orleans Pelicans, Pedulla with the Los Angeles Clippers, and Murrell will compete with the Denver Nuggets.

Pedulla is the most notable player from the Ole Miss tree to compete, winning the NBA G League Rookie of the Year award last season averaging 23.6 points, 6.8 assists, five rebounds and 1.6 steals in 32 minutes per game.

Murrell spent time with the Utah Jazz and their G league affiliation team before signing with the Nuggets, while Dia hopes to make a roster spot despite going undrafted.

This could be a big summer for Ole Miss basketball, success for players at the next level, always helps recruiting for any program.
