Today, the NCAA announced they have denied Trinidad Chambliss’ request for a waiver for a sixth year of eligibility.

Two things to monitor will be if Trinidad takes legal action and if the staff will get Deuce Knight on campus this weekend.

Reading the NCAA decision, I don’t think he’ll get a waiver even if sues.Ferris St has no records to indicate it was a med red shirt. Hate it for Trinidad and The Rebels! Next man up….

Yes, the main issue was always Ferris State’s lack of cooperation.

Chad, my son and I are really good friends with Trinidad and his mom. My son actually sat with the Chambliss family and friends last night. Mrs Chambliss has told us that Ferris St had been very cooperative on many occasions.

By cooperation, I mean that they have not supported his medical claim. That was listed as one of the NCAA’s rationales in their denial.

“Additionally, the student-athlete’s prior school indicated it had no documentation on medical treatment, injury reports or medical conditions involving the student-athlete during that time frame and cited “developmental needs and our team’s competitive circumstances” as its reason the student-athlete did not play in the 2022-23 season. The waiver request was denied.”

Their stance that it was more so developmental and competition based really hurts Trinidad’s case.

Correct. Thats why I believe it’s over. If a school can’t verify a season ending injury, then who can?
