Something special is happening in Oxford.

Ole Miss has an offense loaded with weapons, and now Pete Golding is building the kind of defense that could make this team scary.
John David Baker has Trinidad Chambliss at quarterback and Kewan Lacy in the backfield. The talent is there. The playmakers are there. There are no excuses. This offense should score a lot of points.
But the defense may be the bigger story.
Golding is loading up on long, athletic defensive linemen and edge rushers. The plan is clear. Ole Miss wants guys who can get after the quarterback and take over games up front.
For years, Ole Miss has had explosive offenses. The problem has been putting a dominant defense on the field at the same time.
That could be changing.
If Baker gets the offense rolling and Golding’s defense takes another step, Ole Miss could have something special.
