Ole Miss is still in the running for one of the nation’s top defensive prospects as four-star safety Adryan Cole nears his college decision on July 18.
The Rebels have made Cole a top priority throughout the recruiting process and remain among his finalists heading into his announcement. Ole Miss has consistently recruited the talented Georgia standout, emphasizing its defensive development, culture, and opportunity to compete early in the SEC.
Landing Cole would give the Rebels another major addition to what is already one of the nation’s top 2027 recruiting classes. His commitment would further strengthen a class loaded with blue-chip talent and continue the momentum Ole Miss has built on the recruiting trail this summer.
Recruiting Evaluation
Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 205 pounds, Cole is one of the most complete defensive backs in the 2027 class. He has the size to match up with bigger receivers and tight ends, the speed to cover sideline-to-sideline, and the physicality to be a force against the run.
Cole is a versatile defender who can play free safety, strong safety, nickel, or cornerback, giving defensive coaches plenty of flexibility. He shows outstanding instincts, closes quickly on the football, and plays with the toughness and competitiveness that projects well at the SEC level.
During his junior season, Cole recorded 65 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three interceptions, 10 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one defensive touchdown, showcasing his ability to impact games in every phase of the defense. He also contributed on offense and special teams, highlighting his all-around athleticism.
With more than 40 scholarship offers and a reputation as one of the nation’s premier defensive playmakers, Cole has the talent to become an immediate contributor in college and develop into an NFL prospect. Ole Miss will look to close strong over the final weeks before his July 18 decision.
