Trinidad Chambliss
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is a preseason hopeful for college football’s most coveted award, the Heisman Trophy.
But Chambliss’ mind is on something bigger…to bring the national championship trophy home to Oxford at the end of the 2026 season. He spoke to reporters about that very goal at the media day of the Manning Passing Academy…where he is serving as a counselor this week…in Thibodaux, La.
“I feel like a lot of people always discredit Ole Miss,” Chambliss said, “and kind of look at them as underrated, or not appreciated as much as how they should be. We just went to the national semifinals, and that was a great accomplishment. We obviously want to make it to the national championship.
“That’s the goal at Ole Miss. We’re trying to compete for a national title year in and year out.”
Chambliss turned his commentary back to the “disrespect” he feels this Ole Miss team is receiving.
“We’re used to it. People are not going to count us in or (Ole Miss will) be underrated, so it’s all good,” Chambliss related.
Ole Miss finished with a 13-2 record in 2025, defeated Tulane and Georgia in the College Football Playoffs and came within seconds of defeating Miami in the national semifinals. The Rebels did all of that with Chambliss at the helm of the offense. Chambliss threw for 3,937 yards, 22 touchdowns and just three interceptions across 15 games. He completed 66.1 percent of his passes with a 155.4 passer rating.
