Five Ole Miss players get MLB Draft Combine invite

As the days continue to get closer for the 2026 MLB Draft, a few Ole Miss players that hope to have their names called, are getting closer to making that dream a reality.

This years MLB draft combine has taken place at Chase Field in Phoenix Arizona, from June 23-25.

Today is the last day for over 300 athletes to make their marks in front MLB scouts, and general managers. The five Ole Miss players invited this year are pitchers: Cade Townsend, Landon Koenig, Hudson Calhoun, Taylor Rabe, and Will Libbert.

Townsend (5-3, 3.94 ERA) and Rabe (5-3, 3.55 ERA) were regular weekend starters for the Rebels this season, Rabe making the start for the team in the College World Series against eventual finalist North Carolina.

Libbert (2-2, 6.19 ERA) began the season as a starter, but moved to a reliever role after struggling to find any consistency with his pitch arsenal to start the season. Koenig (3-1, 6.35 ERA) made 17 relief appearances, and Calhoun (5-4, 4.05 ERA) made 22.

Alongside the five players, two Ole Miss signees Cole Prosek and Taj Marchand.

Both players players shortstop, Prosek from Magnolia Heights High School in Senatobia, Mississippi, he is the No. 33 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. He is projected as a top-40 pick in the draft.

Marchand is a shortstop from James Island Charter High School in Charleston, South Carolina. He is ranked as the No. 46 prospect.

According to the MLB pipeline draft stock, Townsend is the only player projected to be drafted in the first round, and Prosek projected to be taken in the second round.
