Saturday’s dramatic 5-3 win against Auburn sealed the Rebels third Super Regional title since 2014. They won in three games in 2014 at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette.
The title run in 2022 was paved by a two game sweep of Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
After beating Auburn 6-4 Friday in Game 1. Ole Miss needed one more win.
They got it behind excellent pitching and maybe even better defense.
The play Hayden Federico made in center when he snow coned a deep fly ball will go down in Ole Miss history. The catch saved three runs and sent a 2-all game to the bottom of the eighth.
The offense which had been stagnant all day with just three hits, came alive against Auburn reliever Jackson Sanders.
Judd Utermark who had a two run double to tie the game in the sixth, led the eight with a one out walk.
Will Furniss followed with a two run blast to left to send Ole Miss fans nuts. The homer made it 4-2.
Tristan Bissetta did not want to get left out. He took Sanders deep to right field and Ole Miss was stunningly up 5-2.
Walker Hooks, who got the save Friday, was back to close it out. Bub Terrell led off with a hit and Cade Beylou put the tying run on.

He then struck out Mason Mccraine to end the game.
Auburn took a 2-0 lead in the fourth after an RBI hit from Bub Terrell scored Chris Rembert. Terrell helped induce a run down and that gave Ethin Bingaman time to score from third.Â
Ole Miss had a chance in the fifth when Federico singled but he tried to take second and was caught in a rundown. Two strikeouts by Alex Petrovic killed the threat.
It was not until the sixth when the Rebels got on the board. Brayden Randle reached on an error and Don Decker singled. Utermark followed with a double that nearly went out. Instead it scored two tie the game.
