Win and advance. That is the mantra of Ole Miss home run king Judd Utermark.
“We obviously wanted to play in Hoover as long as we could,” Utermark said of the Rebels’ early exit from the SEC Tournament, “but now that’s out of our control, unfortunately. But now we’re just focused on how do we get better, how do win a regional and just keep advancing.”
Utermark, who is batting .318 with 20 homers and 48 RBIs this season, set the all-time home run record at Ole Miss with his 49th career dinger earlier this month.
He offered his thoughts on the Rebels’ NCAA Tournament draw. Ole Miss is headed to the Lincoln Regional and will play Arizona State at 8 p.m. CT Friday in its first game.
“I love it,” Utermark said. “I’ve never been to Lincoln, Nebraska, and I think their is a lot of history there in that ballpark.

“I’m curious to see how it plays. I don’t know the dimensions or how the field plays, but it’s nothing that we can’t handle. We have a lot of confidence going in there.
