Four-star wide receiver Joshua Parker
If you are a quarterback competing in the upcoming Southern Elite/365 MegaCamp at Mississippi Valley State, well, you might be salivating. The camp is loaded with stud receivers.
The MegaCamp is set for Sat., May 30, at Mississippi Valley State in Itta Bena, Miss. This is the fourth consecutive year of the series, as it has been held at Mississippi Valley State, Mississippi College, Jackson State and now back to MVSU.
The wide receivers group is loaded with top talent.
“We are so excited about this year’s MegaCamp,” said operations director Marcus Dent. “I want to thank head coach Terrell Buckley at MVSU for his and his staff’s assistance. We are proud to be back at Valley and in Itta Bena.”
Some of the wide receivers registered include transfer portal talents, as well as top high school stars. Among the high school receivers will be four-star 2028 stud Joshua Parker (Jackson Prep), who holds offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, Texas &M, Vanderbilt, Tulane, Kansas State and Texas State. The field also includes recent Ole Miss offer recipient Ahmad Summers (Forest, Miss., HS) and Josiah Steen (Warren, Ark., HS), who holds an offer from the Arkansas Razorbacks. Kameron Riley (Marion, Ark.) also holds an offer from Tennessee-Martin. Meridian High School wide receiver Chase Gathings will also be there.
“The wide receiver field is absolutely loaded for this event,” said Dent.
Former Ole Miss wide receiver, NFL veteran and OleMiss365.com analyst Mike Espy weighed in on some of the talent that will be at the MegaCamp.
“Ahmad Summers is a P4 level talent,” said Espy. “He’s ready already. The kid has the frame. He’s an athletic kid that can move really well and when colleges see him he fits the part. he has a very high ceiling.
“Anything I know about Joshua Parker, I know he’s fast.
“Chase Gathings is interesting. He shows flashes with his catching ability and being a big-play receiver going down the field. I think next level he’s a tight end. I want to see if he can put his hand down and play in those trenches. If he does that, he’ll be really good on the next level.”
The event includes all collegiate coaching and more than 50 college programs are expected to have coaches in attendance to watch the competition.
“You are working in front of men who can offer you on the spot. It happens every single year,” Dent related.

You get to show what you’ve got in front of those who can decide to recruit you and/or offer you on the spot. There will be schools there for all levels of players, from Power 4, to Group of 5 to
