David, come on. You are the big Civil War guy. Why did Jim Rome have to tell us the LSU Tigahs were named after Civil War soldiers?

They are the Tigers because of their stripes. Louisiana troops in the Civil War often wore pants made out of striped bed-ticking cloth, thus earning the name Tigers. I bet Lane did not know that, ha ha.
