Selection Sunday has arrived for the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament field. The selection committee will announce its picks and seeding for the tourney Sunday night. Sixty-four teams will hear their names called.
Regionals will play out between May 15-17. Super Regionals will be held May 21-24. The eight-team Division I College World Series will be held in its traditional home of Oklahoma City from May 28-June 5.
Remember, Ole Miss made history last year, as it won a Regional at Arizona and defeated Arkansas in a Super Regional to advance to the program’s first ever College World Series. Trachsel became one of the few coaches in America to have taken two programs (the other being Minnesota) to the Women’s College World Series.
WILL THERE BE A WATCH PARTY?
The short answer is no. But you can have as many friends come over and grill as much meat as you can pack in your cart from Larson’s Cash Saver and have your own festivities.
OleMiss365.com spoke with head coach Jamie Trachsel on Saturday. She confirmed that the team would get together and watch the announcement in a private setting.
It is all business for the Rebels.

Ole Miss is among those teams expecting to hear its named called and a destination of where its next several games will be played and against who. The Rebels own a respectable 34-24 overall record but a 6-18 mark in SEC contests. It’s a good thing that the SEC is widely considered the best softball conference in America.
ANY GUESSES?
Where and who might Ole Miss play in the NCAA Tournament?
The Oklahoman newspaper is one of the best at predicting the where and when or as it has become known in the popular vernacular…bracketology.
They say Ole Miss is headed to Durham, N.C., to play. If that does happen, it is not a bad draw for the Rebels. Here are the Oklahoman’s predictions.
Durham Regional
- Duke (13)
- Ole Miss
- Marshall
- Howard
