Persy Llamas

The Ole Miss softball program has earned a pair of All-SEC honors, as freshman Madi George and sophomore Persy Llamas were tabbed to the second team, as the SEC announced on Friday.

George adds another honor to her growing list of achievements, joining her teammate Llamas, as well as Amanda Fine and Stephanie  (1997) as the only freshmen to take home All-SEC honors in program history. George becomes the 13th different Rebel to earn All-SEC honors.

Llamas takes home All-SEC second team honors for the second consecutive season, joining an exclusive group of four other Rebels to be named to multiple All-SEC teams in their careers. Llamas etches her name alongside Kylan Becker, RT Cantillo, Lauren Grill and Amanda Fine.

George, who was recently named a top-10 finalist for the NFCA Freshman of the Year, has turned in a huge freshman campaign. The Leander, Texas native has hit .385 with 21 home runs, 58 RBI, nine doubles and 27 walks. George set the single-season records for home runs, RBI and total bases at Ole Miss.

George ranks tied for fifth in the SEC in home runs and is one of just two freshmen in the conference to tally 20 or more home runs. Her efforts have carried over into the postseason, as she tallied two critical RBI in the Rebels second round victory over No. 5 Tennessee.

Llamas has only built on her massive freshman season last year, tallying a career-high 70 hits en route to a .374 batting average. Llamas has added nine home runs, seven doubles and 39 RBI and her 70 hits put her sixth in Ole Miss single-season history.

Llamas has also shined in the field, holding a .996 fielding percentage and recording 434 putouts, good for fourth in a single-season in program history. Her efforts have already put her among the top-10 all-time at Ole Miss in career fielding percentage and putouts.

The Rebels now await placement into the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The selection show is set for Sunday at 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.
