Mystics take McMahon with No. 11 pick, Sky chooses Lattimore in second round

BASKETBALL-WNBA/

Ole Miss superstar Cotie McMahon was selected with the 11th overall pick of the 2026 WNBA Draft on Monday by the Washington Mystics. McMahon, who sometimes played point guard during her season at Ole Miss, is projected as a ball-handling forward in the women’s professional league.

“She’s an extremely competitive player, but sometimes that competitive fire got the best of her in college, whether it was from bad offensive fouls or some theatrics at Ohio State,” said New York Times reporter Cameron Teague Robinson. “She seemed to come into her own at Ole Miss, but one thing is certain when Cotie is in rhythm she’s tough to stop and it’s not easy to stop her when she is coming down the lane.”

McMahon is the fifth Ole Miss player drafted in WNBA first-round history. She is the fourth player in Ole Miss history to be invited to attend the first-round of the WNBA Dfat, joining former Rebels Madison Scott, Marquesha Davis and Shakira Austin, all of whom played under head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.

LATASHA LATTIMORE GOES AT No. 21

The Chicago Sky, through a trade with Portland Fire, made Ole Miss forward Latasha Lattimore the second Rebel chosen in the WNBA Draft on Monday. The Sky chose Lattimore in the second round with the draft’s No. 21 overall pick.
