Ole Miss wraps up Joe Walker Invite

Ole Miss track & field honored its senior class as it concluded its final home meet of the season, earning several more impressive performances to close the 2026 Joe Walker Invitational on a beautiful Saturday at Prefontaine Stadium.

Freshman Patchnalie Compere, fresh off setting the Haitian national 200-meter record last night, ran second leg on Ole Miss’ best 4×100-meter relay of the season alongside Zion LocketteRoyanah Farmer and anchor leg Alicia Burnett. The quartet passed the stick in 43.65, the seventh-best time in school history and the fastest since Ole Miss’ national title winning 42.34 in 2024.

The Rebel men nabbed another win in the 4×1, this time with the quartet of Dekell MinorJordan UrrutiaTarique Wright and Joshua Knox clocking in at 39.20 – just two hundredths off their season-best 39.18 set at LSU last weekend.

Later in the day, Urrutia was the victor in the 100-meter dash, running an impressive career-best 10.24 into a -1.6 headwind – moving him to No. 8 in school history. Minor was the runner-up, clocking a wind-legal Ole Miss best 10.33 into that same headwind.

Wright had a career-best of his own in the 400-meter dash, finishing seventh at an overall PR 48.26.

Ole Miss took the top three spots in the women’s edition of the 100-meter, with junior Royanah Farmer leading at a season debut 11.65 (-1.1). Jumpers Lizzie Hatton (2nd, 11.91/-1.1) and Indya Dotson (3rd, 11.98/-0.1) followed Farmer for the top-three sweep.

Ole Miss won three event titles in the field, including from national champion seniors Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan and Arvesta Troupe in their final home meets as Rebels. Robinson-O’Hagan took the shot put at 20.61m/67-07.50, while Troupe was victorious in his outdoor season debut at 2.15m/7-00.50. Freshman Ashton Hearn was the winner in the men’s discus at 54.08m/177-5.
