Aycock shuts down UCA, Rebs win again

Ole Miss pitcher Kyra Aycock earned her tenth win of the season Wednesday in Conway, Ark.

CONWAY, Ark. — Ole Miss benefited from five strong innings from starter Kyra Aycock on Wednesday, catapulting to a 5-0 victory over Central Arkansas. Aycock (10-7) yielded just three hits to the Sugar Bear, while striking out one and walking two.

The Rebels improved to 25-15 with the win. UCA dropped top 23-15.

Emilee Boyer tossed the final two innings of scoreless ball.

First baseman Persy Llamas had the hot bat on Wednesday, Llamas turned in a 3-for-4 effort at the plate with an RBI. Shortstop Cassie Reasner, who drove in a team-record seven run Tuesday night at Memphis, went 2-for-4 with another home run. Second baseman Mackenzie Pickens drove in two.

Ole Miss broke open a 1-0 game with three runs in the top of the fifth. The Rebels extended their lead to 5-0 in the seventh.

NEXT UP

Ole Miss is off this weekend, as the world celebrates the Easter holiday. The Rebels return to the field next Tuesday when they host Samford at 7:30 p.m. Ole Miss returns to SEC play on Fri., April 10, when Texas A&M comes to Oxford for a three-game SEC series.
