365 Prospect Camp set for Meridian High School on Saturday

The second 365 Prospect Camp will be held this Saturday at Meridian (Miss.) High School. OleMiss365.com is partnering with Meridian High School to host the event.

The first was held two weeks ago at Olive Branch (Miss.) High School with about 200 recruit-hopefuls in attendance. Camps are also scheduled for March 22 at Cleveland (Miss.) Central High School and March 28, in San Antonio, Texas, at Cornerstone Christian Academy.

The combines are an opportunity for players to get noticed, as 365’s entire team of analysts are on hand at each of these events. That includes former Ole Miss Rebel and NFL receiver Mike Espy, Miss-Lou Recruiting founder Shedrick Mckenzie along with 365’s Marcus Dent, Lee Ann Herring and David Johnson.

“We realize that a lot of prospects don’t simply have the money to travel to the bigger cities to be seen,” said OleMiss365.com executive editor David Johnson. “So, we are bringing the camps to them. That’s also why the cost of attendance is just fifty dollars. That helps pay for facility usage, insurance and coaching fees. These are not moneymakers for our organization and are not meant to be.”

Every prospect who attends one of 365’s camps will receiver a recruiting profile on the network. The camp is open to all prospects in the classes of 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030 and 2031.

“There will be a media session with every player. who attends this event,” said Johnson. “That includes having your photo taken and potential interviews after the camp.”

The Meridian camp will start at 9:30 a.m. WITH REGISTRATION OPENING AT 8 a.m. All registration is done upon arrival Saturday.

“We looked at the weather and we’re trying to beat the rain, so we moved the registration and start times to the morning. The thunderstorms shouldn’t move in until later in the afternoon,” said Johnson.

MEGACAMP COMING

OleMiss365.com has reached a preliminary agreement to host its annual MegaCamp at Mississippi Valley State University this summer. The date for the MegaCamp is Saturday, May 30. This is the fourth year the group has hosted MegaCamps having done them at Mississippi Valley State, Mississippi College and Jackson State. Traditionally, more than 40 universities send coaching staffs to evaluate the players.

“We had a great meeting with Mississippi valley head coach Terrell Buckley and his staff earlier this week,” said Johnson. “We drew more than 800 prospects the last time we were at Valley, and with Coach Buckley in place, we can top it this year,” said Johnson.

MegaCamps are held on an NCAA campus, allowing all other colleges to attend.

“A prospect may not have the money to travel to Ohio State and Notre Dame or even Ole Miss for that matter. Again, this is bringing those type of programs to them,” said Johnson.

Colleges from all levels…D1, D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO…attend the event.

PLAYERS’ KIDS CAMP

OleMiss365.com will host a camp for kids entering grades K-6 this summer in partnership with Ole Miss linebacker Raymond Collins and other Rebels on the current roster. The date and time of the camp is still being determined but it will be held during the month of June.
